Who are we?
Sounds of the Diaspora is a creative, education-focused initiative that supports and uplifts marginalized youth, especially young Black individuals. We tackle barriers in education by offering culturally relevant workshops, storytelling, music and hands-on learning experiences.
Our goal is to rethink education — making it more inclusive and reflective of the real-life experiences and dreams of underrepresented communities. Through our engaging programs and collaborative spaces, we help young people explore their identities, build leadership skills, and gain the confidence to overcome challenges in their lives.
At Sounds of the Diaspora, we believe that education should empower, inspire, and create opportunities for everyone.

Podcast episodes that amplify underrepresented voices while blending storytelling with academic frameworks.
Community events including zine-making, DJ workshops and cultural dialogues to inspire creative expression and meaningful connection.
